With the chilly and wet fall weather in full swing, we’re happy to take cover indoors to hear some great stories and later curl up with a new book. There are events happening all over the province this week—definitely something for everyone.

Leading up to Halloween is the perfect time for some ghost stories. Join Shanon Sinn for tales from The Haunting of Vancouver Island on Monday, October 23 in Victoria and Saturday, October 28 in Nanaimo.

Brunch is one of the best meals of the day because it can go sweet or savory, and you can sleep in just a bit if you’re lucky. Victoria is hailed as the “official brunch capital of Canada,” so it seems fitting that there is now a cookbook highlighting all these fantastic restaurants. Join Rebecca Wellman on Tuesday, October 24 to launch First, We Brunch (and yes, there will be refreshments!).
