Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 30, Jayne Seagrave will be at Vancouver’s Book Warehouse on Main Street to share stories from her latest book All the World’s a Stage (Heritage House), a candid and entertaining celebration of Bard on the Beach – Western Canada’s most illustrious Shakespeare festival.
Also at Book Warehouse Main Street, on Wednesday, May 31, survivor Elizabeth Rains will launch and read from her new book, Demon in My Blood, about her battle with hep C and the incredible cure.
Music or poetry more your thing? Rodney DeCroo is having a double launch on Wednesday, May 31 for his new poetry collection, Next Door to the Butcher Shop (Nightwood Editions), and his latest studio album, Old Tenement Man (Tonic Records).
If you’re excited about #Canada150, be sure to join Tom Hawthorn on Wednesday, May 31 as he celebrates the release of his new book, The Year Canadians Lost Their Minds and Found Their Country: The Centennial of 1967 (Douglas & McIntyre) at the Museum of Vancouver.
In Prince George on Friday, June 2, meet Heidi Redl, author of A Quiet Roar: Living with Multiple Sclerosis (Caitlin Press) for a book signing. A Quiet Roar is the story of Redl’s struggles and triumphs in her uphill battle with multiple sclerosis.
Also on Friday, June 2, in Victoria, the Royal BC Museum launches their newest book, The Language of Family: Stories of Bonds and Belonging. Contributors to the book will read excerpts from their stories, essays and poems and talk about what family means.

Nanaimo is in for a treat on Saturday, June 3, as local historian Jan Peterson launches her new book, Mark Bate: Nanaimo’s First Mayor (Heritage House). Jan offers an engaging profile of Bate, a popular leader who served sixteen terms as mayor between 1875 and 1900 and witnessed Nanaimo’s evolution from small mining settlement to full-fledged city.
